The materials on this website were created as part of a project included in the Microsoft/SQA Innovative Teachers programme. The project was entitled 'Co-operative Learning using an On-line Learning Environment' and involved Higher Computing pupils in S5 from St. Andrew's High School.

The main thrust of the project was the examination of co-operative learning techniques using video conferencing software and a blog. However, the revision of the curriculum content was supplemented by Microsoft PowerPoint slides. Once the content had been revised using video conferenced revision lessons and the PowerPoint slides, the online formative assessment tool was used to evaluate learning. The assessments covered discrete elements of the course and allowed the pupils to focus on their weaknesses. The personal learning planning stage involved pupils identifying their strengths and areas for development. They then formulated Next Steps and created an Action Plan setting targets for themselves.
